I chose Ohio Valley College of Technology because I heard so much positive feedback from others that had attended here. When I had my first visit at OVCT, I knew it was the school for me. Everything was exactly what I was looking for, from the high job placement rate to the kindness of everyone on staff.
I chose the dental assisting program because I have always been interested in the dental field. When I first look at someone, their smile is the first thing I notice. Being able to give people better smiles is something I’ve always wanted to do. So far, my favorite part of attending OVCT has been meeting new people and learning new things about the dental field.
My experience at OVCT has also helped me better manage my time. I work as a server five nights a week, go to school four days a week, and extern every chance I get. My advice for future students is to never give up. When I started getting into my dental classes, I knew this was something I would love. I am so glad that I stuck with it because I have learned so much throughout the program and from all of the people I’ve met.
I would like to thank the Dental Director, Jamie Stine, CDA. She made my time at OVCT such a great experience. Mrs. Stine taught me all I need to know. She also helped me find an office where I fit in. She also helped me anytime I was struggling. Without her, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Thank you so much for all that you have done for me!
I have two big supporters, my mother and my boyfriend. My mother has supported me my whole life and I wouldn’t change a thing. She was a little caught off guard when I told her that I was going to OVCT for the dental assisting program, but she never doubted me. She pushed me to do my homework and helped me get up in the mornings when I might have slept through my alarm. My boyfriend also kept me on track. He helped me study and pushed me to do my homework. I am so thankful for the two of them.
My choice to attend OVCT was one of my best decisions so far. As I’m getting ready to graduate, I’m realizing that I’m more prepared for my job as a dental assistant than I ever thought I would be.
