Amy Hughes is an upcoming graduate at Ohio Valley College of Technology and is in the Medical Assisting program. She chose OVCT because of the small classes and the close atmosphere. Amy likes that her instructors know her by name and her and her fellow classmates can work together to advance in their field. She also enjoys the fact that OVCT is extremely helpful in placing students with jobs in their field.
Amy decided Medical Assisting as a career because she loves working with people and helping those live healthier lives. She has always been interested in the medical field and medical assisting. “I feel it gives me an opportunity to do many different things in my career” stated Amy.
When asked what her favorite part of attending OVCT she said EVERYTHING I HAVE LEARNED! Amy says she has gained so much knowledge while attending and that she cannot wait to apply it to her career.
While Amy has been hitting the books and studying for exams Amy has two big supporters at home. “My mom, who has been a great rock for me to lean on anytime I struggled she always, reassured me. Also, my wonderful boyfriend, Shane who supports me in ALL that I do and constantly reminds me that he is always behind me and telling me I can do anything. They both have been a great support for me and giving me a great outlook on life.”
Amy Hughes really wants to thank her teachers because they have all been very helpful to her. Amy sends out a special thanks to Mrs. Scott for being a positive role model throughout her time at OVCT and for always being a huge help. Also, a special thank you to Mrs. McHenry because she has always been great with the students and has taught Amy so much.
During her time off from school work, Amy enjoys being outside and spending time with her horses and dog. She especially enjoys listening to and learning new things!
