Britni Reese decided to enroll at Ohio Valley College of Technology because she heard a lot of great things about the hands on learning and liked the fact that instructors know you by name. “I chose Medical Assisting because I love the medical field and helping others” says Britni.
She decided that being a Medical Assistant would be a great stepping stone to be a future Nurse. The training she received in medical assisting will be a foundation for her education to become an RN. Currently, Britni Reese is working in Belmont at Acuity Specialty Hospital in their Records Health Management Department. Ms. Reese was one of many applicants but because of her OVCT training, her qualifications were more impressive.
Britni said that her favorite part of attending OVCT was the smaller classes. “You get a lot of one on one time and everyone is so helpful and great to be around. Your instructors are always there when you need them.” Her advice to future students is “NOTE CARDS! They will become your best friends.” She also says never be afraid to ask for help and think positive even when you want to give up.
Britni would like to thank her family and friends for standing beside her and supporting her efforts to succeed. She also wants to send a big thank you to Mrs. Kristen Scott for always encouraging her to work hard and teaching Britni everything she knows. Britni says she would not have been able to survive it all without her boyfriend Corey and her two kids. “I couldn’t have done it without them” she says.
