Pat first enrolled in the Dental Assisting program because she has always been fascinated by the dental terminology the dentist used when she went in for a checkup. After completing her externship, she became fascinated with the coding and billing aspects of the healthcare industry and enrolled in the Medical Office Administration program.
As a student, Pat loved the learning process at OVCT. “I didn’t know how smart I was until I came here, and actually made the Dean’s list.”
After graduation, Pat went to the jobseeker workshops at OVCT and was hired as a receptionist in Columbiana. She currently is employed at home healthcare agency, Sacred Arms, and she loves every minute of it. Her career goal is to combine her medical office degree and her dental assisting degree to benefit a company in the healthcare industry.
Pat’s advice to current students is to “hang in there; it can be overwhelming at first. Any time you need help with anything, the instructors are more than happy to help their students succeed.”
Pat Coleman would like to thank Mrs. Stine, Mrs. Scott, Mrs. McHenry, Mrs. Rogers, Monica Allison and Jon Ream for all their help. She also wants to send a special thank you to her brother Dave and her friends: Robbyn, Betsy and Trina.
