Does she look familiar? Yes! Ohio Valley College of Technology extends congratulations to Mrs. Carolyn Grimes, an instructor at the Ohio Valley College of Technology who is now the Career Management Director on-campus.
“I have really enjoyed seeing our students grow over time as an instructor at OVCT,” Mrs. Grimes said. “One of the best parts of my job as an instructor was help getting them ready for their careers and now I have even more of an opportunity to help our students make a life-changing transition into the careers they have been working so hard toward.”
Mrs. Grimes is very excited about the many new components of the position and she has a wide variety of new ideas for the department. She points out that working together in the Career Preparation class will be a great time to help students develop all of the tools they will need for their job search.
“If I had to pick just one thing, I would say that assisting our students in getting placed in jobs from their field of study will be the most rewarding and exciting part of my new job!” she said.
A few characteristics Mrs. Grimes bring to the position: enthusiasm, initiative, integrity, problem solving, technology skills and innovation.
Mrs. Grimes loves working at OVCT because of the excellent team of hardworking professionals.
“It is great being a part of such a friendly team environment where it feels like everyone is willing to pitch in and help out, no matter the task at hand,” she said. “At OVCT, no matter what an individual’s job is, they see the larger picture everyone is committed toward: excellent recruiting and admissions, super effective training in our classrooms, and of course, outstanding career placement!”
