As a young mother and student at OVCT, Jessica found a way to juggle her responsibilities at school, while caring for her now two-and-a-half year old son, Jaxon, and staying active in the community. She is the proud two-year recipient of the Upper Ohio Valley Scholarship. Of managing her responsibilities in and outside the classroom, Jessica said, “I came to OVCT to make a better life for myself and my child. I knew that’s what my goal was.”
Recently, Jessica volunteered to assist with the medical assistant portion of the Career Publication the Career Management Department recently produced. A highlight of her featured page is shown below.
Of assisting in the Career Publication, Jessica said, “I was nervous, but it was really fun. I was glad to participate, and I think it came out great!”
After graduating from OVCT, Jessica was hired as a Medical Assistant at Ankle and Footcare Centers in Calcutta, Ohio. In addition to working at Ankle and Footcare Centers, she is currently studying for her General X-ray Machine Operator (GXMO) radiologic license, and assists as a volunteer with East Liverpool City High School Track meets. She feels she is on the right track of working toward her goal of making a better life for herself and her son, and looks forward to accomplishing even more in the future.
